Dr. Emese Savoia-Keleti is the Data Protection Officer of the European External Action Service. She has a long-term experience in the field of data protection; it is over 15 years that Emese has been dealing with privacy and processing of personal data in EU institutions and bodies. 

She worked three years in the European Commission, being the Data Protection Coordinator of Directorate General for Humanitarian Aid and Civil Protection. Ms Savoia-Keleti continued to stay in the area of external relations by using her expertise of data protection to provide support launching the Data Protection Office after the establishment of the EEAS. 

She comes from the private sector working for an international advisory enterprise in Germany. Emese accomplished her doctorate degree in Budapest complementing it with a second masters in European Studies. Ms Savoia-Keleti was a Fulbright scholar in New York. She speaks 5 languages and regularly gives presentations, trainings and workshops in the domain of data protection, including data and cyber security in the digital age.
