Telmo Baltazar

Telmo Baltazar is the is the Principal Advisor on Political and Corporate Communication at the Directorate-General Communication of the European Commission, a role he has held since December 2019. In 2021, he also served as Head of Strategic Communication for the Portuguese Presidency of the Council of the EU.

After joining the European Commission in 1995, he has held significant roles, including working on justice and home affairs, serving as Counsellor in the EU Delegation to the USA, and being the spokespersons for the Commissioner for Justice, Freedom, and Security. His extensive experience also includes serving as Head of Cabinet for Vice-President Viviane Reding and as Senior Political Adviser to President Jean-Claude Juncker, overseeing key policies.
