Transparency stands is at the core values of EDPS. It steers the overall approach to our tasks and shapes our demeanour in fulfilling our duties and responsibilities. In our ongoing efforts, we aspire to elevate further this pledge to our stakeholders and EU citizens.

As we commemorate the 20th anniversary of the EDPS, we will analyse our activities over the last two decades. As a result of this evaluation, we commit to disclosing previously unreleased documents, thereby fostering openness and accountability.

Under the initiative, the EDPS will publish decisions, reports, papers, and other documents. Starting from the documents issued during the current mandate, we will go back until its establishment.

In order to give more visibility to this Transparency Initiative, a dedicated web page will be created on the EDPS website. Furthermore, the existing pages Access to Documents and Public Documents Register will undergo a significant restyling.

In parallel, the EDPS aims to complement the existing legal transparency framework, ensuring a more robust and comprehensive approach to document disclosure. By establishing a set of rules and procedures, we seek to streamline the process of making EDPS documents accessible while upholding the highest standards of accountability and openness. This internal framework will serve as a practical tool for efficiently managing the publication process, further reinforcing our commitment to transparency and fostering trust among stakeholders and the broader community.
